Alaska Resounding - Inaugural Concert

  • Anchorage Museum 625 C Street Anchorage, AK, 99501 United States (map)

The “Alaskan Landscapes” main stage concert at the Anchorage Museum kicks off Alaska Resounding’s inaugural festival season. This concert experience integrating an impeccably curated selection of modern musical masterworks with live painting and references to the museum’s collection of sculpture, crafted objects, and art.

This year’s collaborative artist, the Juneau phenom Crystal Worl, will create visual works as outstanding chamber musicians from Alaska and the Pacific Northwest perform a compelling collection of music by living composers including several masterworks by women and Indigenous artists.

Amelia shines in gorgeous flute-forward works:

Joan Tower (Grawemeyer Award and Grammy Award winner), Rising for flute and string quartet

Karen Tanaka (Gaudeamus Prize winner), Frozen Horizon for flute, string quartet, bass, percussion
